Pre Travel : Seoul

Image
Planning  to travel comfort countries are relaxing because you know more about the place that you do not worry. this trip is 12 years in the making (after my last soujorn in 2012) . I am not sure if i plan to go there anytime soon after this trip.  1  Find which airlines travel to the city you are going to.  For Korea, Jeju Air/Tway Air/Korean Airlines/SQ.  You can decide to go budget or splurge. It costs anywhere between S$500 to S$700. Do be on a look out for fare promotions,  who knows, you might just snag a good deal.  2 Decide on the dates you want to travel  When do you want to go? Is it summer, winter, late spring? Are there events or concerts you would want to go to while you are there?  Is there an upcoming long weekend? Do research on the upcoming holidays in the country that you are going (unless you are going on a package tour - and you will just go with the flow).  Avoid Chuseok and Lunar New year, and any potential long wee...

2023 Hokkaido Trip Day 03: Otw to Asahikawa

Image
We already went around Hakodate so we decided to just take the morning train (the earliest that we can wake up to) @ 9AM and go to Asahikawa . We needed to do 2 transfers, which was to alight (again) at  Minami Chitose and take the limited express train to go Asahikawa. We just followed the timetable proposed by the JR Station personnel (they know better). To help prepare us for the journey, we went to the train station to get our breakfast, lunch and snacks (and some souvenirs too) for the trip.   Our breakfast is 7-11 tamago sando and karaage (I do noticed that 7-11 are more strategically placed than Lawson and Famima, though they are also near the vicinity) .  We bought some ekiben to take with us for the duration of the trip, and some snacks along the way (my staple will be Royal Milk Tea and Chip Star)  大沼黒牛めし 1300 yen @ 四季海鮮旬花 (Not in picture: 四季彩幕の肉 1200 yen @ 駅弁の函館みかど)  Hakodate Oonuma Kurobuta Meshi It was already 2ish when we reached Asahik...

2023 Hokkaido Trip Day 02: Going around Hakodate

Image
We started day 02 finding our breakfast. Our hotel is near to the Morning Market, so we decided to head there for the day (Note: You will see yourself in the midst of tour buses as group tours go to this market at this timing, 0830 - 0900) We decided to go around and get our breakfast at Uni Murakami ( Tip: If your hotel is near to the market, you can go 1 round the night before to catch a glimpse of what morning market has to offer and probably to also pick your breakfast from the array of restaurants. )  We stumbled upon Uni Murakami because we saw a queue forming. (I go by the mentality that if there is a queue, it must be good) People here do eat fast, so we were seated in no time. The crowd died down after we ate (which was around 10ish).     Note: You can put your bags on the box provided (below your seats).   One thing i notice is that they know how to read the atmosphere, they do notice that if you are sharing with another person, they will bring ad...
