RESTAURANT REVIEW: P.S. Cafe Paragon

Image
I just need to get it off my chest. Probably because I wanted to write something about hype . Not all hype are worth getting queue for, not all hype are worth going for...and this restaurant is just one of them. I've heard by word of mouth that this place serves nice food and we decided to stop by and eat here.... PS Cafe Paragon We went out to eat at PS Cafe to celebrate a birthday. We booked online to eat at P.S. Cafe in Paragon Mall, Orchard. The place is located on the 3rd floor near Marks & Spencer. Ambiance The place is nicely decorated albeit the place is  small. It had that garden cafe feel like what you see in the streets of Melbourne. The restaurant was packed compared to other restaurants during dinnertime on a weeknight (TH). The dishes Verdict: Average tasting dish. Shoestring Truffle fries (Signature dish) - So sue me, I am a fan of truffle oil. with that gas smelling taste lingering in your tongue ,truffle is one of the things that I cared

What to expect when expecting: JLPT N1

Image
Disclaimer: I am not claiming that by reading this post you'll pass JLPT. It all depends on you, the examinee, to study for it. I am just here to talk about how it was for me and what resources I used while studying for it. My brain will not be able to retain all the things that I've seen in the past while revising for the exam, so I am writing this post to help me recall the things I did while preparing for the exam. As of now, I am still waiting for the N1 result , which I will know in just a few weeks.  Studying for JLPT N1 is certainly no joke. You have to at least know 10,000 words and 2,000 Kanji , on top of those things that you've learned in the past, and that's definitely not just walk in the park. What I realized was that there's really no way for me to study all of the words, with that in mind, I took everything in stride, and just digest whatever my brain can absorb in the span of time that I have. I started to seriously study 2 months be

I've been going in and out of Tokyo Station since the first time I travelled to Japan, and more often than not, I do find myself a bit lost when I want to find the Tokyo Character Street.  You have to be wary of your surroundings, especially around Tokyo and Shinjuku station because, there's more than one exit. It's one big maze just to go around the station that if you took the wrong exit, you'll reach the exit on the other side ( and you wouldn't want that).   So here's some insider tip: Just how do you go to the Tokyo Character Street inside Tokyo Station Go out of Yaesu North Exit of Tokyo Station, go down the flight of stairs to B1 level.  Alternatively, go out of Yaesu Central Exit, turn left and go down to B1 level. If you are on the platform where entrance/exit to take shinkansen are, you're on the right direction! Tokyo Character Street is just 2 floors down.  But before anything else...  Before you go and buy stuff at Tokyo Cha
