2022 Cruise to Nowhere : A Royal Carribbean Adventure Day 1

Image
As the borders were still closed (and we are getting that cabin fever), we decided to try cruise to nowhere (during the pandemic). Everyone we know at least tried to take a cruise (I was thinking that I will only do a cruise, when I am old), so why not give it a shot. The fees were reasonable so we decided to give it a go.   and this was how the whole cruise experience went by on the first day:  Since we are travelling in the year of covid, we need to take the ART test (24h before boarding.Edit: Since Jun 2022 , there are no more requirements to take ART / PCR tests upon arrival in SG). We just wing it and did not get any travel insurance.  Luckily, everything turned out ok.  Tip: You need to check which test centers are open on a public holiday. Since the test centers near our area are closed, we had to go all the way to City Hall, and take Fullerton Health. There is no variation with having an appointment as they just accept walk ins.  Embarking at Marina Bay Cruise Center. The neare

Another long day drive and it's only 2 spots for the day As early as the crack of dawn, I had to wake up and leave the hotel by 0700. There was no time for breakfast. Like a soldier, it was a routine to wake up, shower and pack up.  Today was a long drive on the interstate. Drive to Nevada From Reno, it was a 2hr drive To the first stop at Millcity, Nevada. The bus had a stopover at one of the convenience stores, the first of many,  so you can get your breakfast here. I had to remind myself that the convenience stores in the US don't have much selection when you compared to Japan. The staples are snacks, chips, cold drinks, and a hotdog sandwich stall. You have to DIY. I do recall, that there's no order of ordering things. You can bring the sandwich up and pay or pay later. Prices are pretty much the same. As for coffee, you have to bring the cup to the counter. In the US, you can pretty much order the smallest cup (and it will still be considered medium in other coun

Canada 2015: A 13-day Canada Trip

Touchdown Vancouver We had a layover in Taiwan. Luckily for eva air , we need not go out of the terminal to get through the gates. We just went over to the transfer desk and followed procedures to go to the gates. Of course, there was still a security check, so we had to empty our bottles up. Upon touchdown at the airport, we proceeded to go to immigration. They process by families so if you are with your siblings and family, you're bound to be processed together. They also have translators if you can't speak in English ( which is not a bad service). They will ask you about the purpose of your trip, which travel agency you booked with and what food did you bring in to Canada. Then it's off to collect your bags. As we opted to go to an airport hotel, we went to the shuttle pick up service in Vancouver. We had to wake up early to take a flight to Vancouver Island. ( If you are going by pacific coastal, which is at south terminal, you have to be specific to the driver
