Summary
Tokyo is now under a terrorist attack.  A group named Sphinx, consisting of a pair of teenage boys named Nine and Twelve, proclaims that they are culprits for these attacks and are taunting the Tokyo Metropolitan Police District with a series of puzzles posted online. These puzzles are not just ordinary puzzles but they are riddles that unlocks the next location of a bomb . ( I shall not tell any more details since it will spoil the fun ).

Review
Now the concept isn't something really new. We just have enough bites on our plate with these type of dramas. I've seen wanted criminals/terrorist gaining the attention of police ( hello 24! hello Black List! ). What is different from other series is that this series is raw. We find empathy to the characters of Nine and Twelve. We can relate to them , to the pain they've suffered. They just wanted that their cause be shed some light. True, Nine and Twelve are fairly capable human beings, they are even too smart for their own good. But deep down they are still human , capable of getting hurt, capable of hurting someone.  They have some deep emotional scars. Their dark past continues to haunt them each day. There is not a moment in their life that they could forget about what happened in the past.
At the end of the series, we all knew what was coming as they say no good deed goes unpunished. But even though we knew, we were still hopeful about the ending , we were still hopeful that ultimately nine and twelve will get the justice that they seek. (I would say justice was served but it was tad late.. )
Why did i decide to watch this?
Mainly because my tumblr account and fb news feed were full of this story (and yes, at the very end i was also spoiled but it did not deter me from watching it )
Nine. Kudos to Ishikawa Kaito ( he's becoming more and more seen in anime shows ) for delivering an effective Nine ( coincidentally, the character Kageyama tobio in Haikyuu which he also voices, wears the jersey with a number 9. ). I saw cold and warm emotions from him. The character is quite complex yet it was portrayed in a way where we can sympathize with the character. Btw, Is Kaito Ishikawa becoming the tsundere king?
Shibazaki. This detective was very relentless to his cause. He made me believe that there's actually still some hope in the police department. He was relentless in pursuing the truth, and ultimately shed some light to Nine and Twelve's case. He is voiced by Shunsuke Sakuya.
Five. The worthy opponent of Nine. If it weren't for her, I would also have long gone drop the series. it was her and her showdown with Nine that made me stick till the very end of the series. She is voiced by Megumi Han ( Gon in Hunter x Hunter ). I think this one of her other voices when not voicing Gon. haha.
Yoko Kanno's bgm music. This was quite nostalgic, and the music blended perfectly well with the scenes. Yoko Kanno is known for her music in Cowboy Bepop, Vision of Escaflowne, Macross Frontier to name a few.

Why would i want to drop this?
There was a point in time where the pacing went a bit slow, had they not turn the things around, I would have given up and dropped the series. Props to the writer that made this story quite interesting. We were all at our toes wanting to know the truth about Von.

Comment: It took me just 2 days to finish this series. It was a darn good series but it is best left to watch it after the series have finished airing. I don't think my heart can bear it just by anticipating what is going to happen week after week, it will just become a painful waiting game. Good thing that I watched it when it was all done.

Rating: 8 out of 10 ( Well, this can't be too perfect, but I think I can recommend this to my friends since this is one thought-provoking series )
