PSA: How to avoid phishing email

Image
I was casually browsing my email when I saw that there was a mail from Apple , and it says " Apple ID has been disabled".  It says that to prevent further loss of information and for my account to be "activated" again, I need to click on a link. ( Very desperate, huh?) After the incident when I was asked to pay S$1,000 for a purchase that I didn't do. I've been wary of the things that I give out online. This time around, I was on my guard and stay one step ahead of this would be scammers. I am now hesitant to giving out any of my information online. I have to be sure that if I were to give out my information, that it will be treated with utmost care. I have to be sure that this came from a legitimate source.  Once I hit reply button, I immediately check the sender's address.Lo and behold, the sender's address was some computer generated address. And with that my suspicions were cleared, this was indeed a phishing email. Of course, I reported ...

Restaurant Review: Don Dae Bak Singapore

Image
Don Dae Bak Singapore never ceases to amaze me as this city is home to quite a few number of restaurants. It has some eclectic collection of dishes from countries like Korea, China, Japan, Spain, Mexican, and others. We decided to try Don Dae Bak, a Korean bbq joint that offers bbq buffet at an affordable price. The dish Side dishes : Free Flow Side dish ( Most korean side dishes are quite sumptuous that I consider them meals on their own accord. haha! Noteworthy side dish was their potato salad, kimchi, and soybean skin) As we've reserved their lunch bbq buffet, we ordered from their ala carte bbq buffet selection menu. For the other dishes outside of the bbq buffet , you have to top up accordingly (but you'd not want to eat anything else other than their bbq buffet!). We opted to order 3 dishes in a row and just space the other orders in between. You are given a time allotment of 90 minutes. Ala carte bbq selection includes:  Chicken: Marinated chicken,...

Taiwan Pre-Travel

Image
I have been preparing for my not-so-impromptu trip to Taiwan. Taiwan was not actually on the radar of the countries I should visit since I've been there a few times. This time around, it's different. One thing, I am travelling with friends and attending a Japanese concert ( Basically since the Jp artistes only consider Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan as their base market, I have no choice but to choose a country that is relatively ok to travel with as long as I know the lingo.) This trip, I considered it to be hassle-free pre-travel. Thank God, I do not need a visa ( I just hope they don't retract it on the day of my travel. ) for now to go Taiwan. The visa-less trip will lapse on July 2018. So if you want to go Taiwan visa-free, now is your chance.  So first things up, like in any of the travels that I've been, I have to research..   Where do you want to go Since I've frequent Taiwan and have gone to their touristy destination, I decided that thi...
