Buying a Resale HDB Flat - Register of Intent to Buy

One of the first step to buying a house in Singapore is to register your intent to buy. You have to go to the resale portal to submit your intent.

You need to fill up the details such as buyer information. You will also be asked who are the buyers and who are the occupiers of the house(if any). Be armed with the knowledge of your gross monthly income for the past 3 months (excluding the current month), gross monthly does not include bonuses and overtime as stated on  website and below:

You can skip occupier if you do not have anyone to include.  If your income is below ceiling S$6,000, you need to state how much is the basic salary (for a month) for the past 12 months. If your gross monthly income exceeds S$6,000, you're not obliged to answer Q3 and Q4.

Also, if you do put an occupier, you need to know the details such as :
  • The monthly income ( 6 months if no CPF contributions, 3 months if they have).
  • The NRIC/FIN , date of issue, and date of expiry.
  • Relationship to the buyer
I need to do a do over because I have submitted one with bonuses (which I should not have indicated as gross monthly excludes bonus). There's no need to pay S$10 for registration fee. ( I thought there's one).

Next Step is to also furnish a copy of HLE (They will keep the draft for a period of time). As of May 10 2023, new changes has been implemented to HLE. HLE will now be known as HFE
