Singapore 2018: Surviving Halloween Horror Nights 8

Image
This was my first time going to Halloween Horror Nights. I've seen feeds from friends about Halloween Horror Nights, yet I wasn't enticed, until this year, when Universal Studios brought  in Stranger Things. I can say that my tolerance for scary things is quite high. It'll take a lot of effort for me to scream my lungs out. (Not having the money to pay the bills is ) Now, I will not spoil the part where they will scare you as it will defeat the purpose of going to a haunted house. It's for you to be scared. I'll just be laying out to some of the guidelines for you to fully enjoy Halloween Horror Nights (next year).  Halloween Horror Nights is a month long venture of Universal Studios, where they'll be opened for the night till late. Getting There To go Universal Studios, you can go by a few ways: 1. By walking - if you want to burn that excess fat, you can walk  the walkalator from Vivo City Level 1 (Follow the signs to Sentosa Boardwalk). 2. By...

Myanmar Itinerary 2019: PreTravel

Image
A new year means new travel.. This year, I am travelling to Myanmar. Before embarking on the journey, I've taken down steps on how I prepared for the trip.  Here's a rough sketch: Step 1: Booking the airline  I was fortunate to book flights to Myanmar via Singapore Airlines. SQ was having a time sale for seats and I managed to snatch up some good deal. Step 2: Travel Agency Once, the flights have been settled. The next logical thing to do is to scout for a travel agency that can help with travelling to Myanmar. I am going with friends and we are not driving nor we plan to do the trip free & easy. I've consulted with friends who had been there and tripadvisor. Ultimately, One Stop Myanmar was the clear choice to handle the travel needs in Myanmar. I engaged the travel agency through a series of email. I was channeled from Bon to Hannah.  They were highly responsive (up to a certain time). I've asked them what itineraries they can provide if I am ...

Taiwan Itinerary 2018: Day 5 - Roam Around Banqiao station and Going Home

Image
I started the day out by scouting the neighborhood. These were taken near the neighborhood park. Around the station Inside the station.. Shops were still closed and they only open around 11AM. Grabbing a grub for breakfast would only take you to the nearest convenience store ( which at this point in time, I was already tired from walking around). Luckily, there's a sandwich store that is open somewhat earlier than the mall. I also took the opportunity to buy some OJ tea from Mister Donut ... Having grab breakfast and got nowhere else to go, I scouted some convenience store to buy some last minute food souvenir. There was not a nearby grocery where I was staying .. After buying the food , it was time to say goodbye to Taipei as I head to the airport. 11:50 go back to hotel and go to airport. 12:45 reach airport and check-in. The check-in counter will only open some 3 hours before. I was just carrying 1 carry on luggage and  1 check in baggage. Food ...

Taiwan Itinerary 2018: Day 4 - Buying Pineapple Tarts and then some

Image
Day 4: "Search for the nicest pineapple tarts Our breakfast was anything that we can grab hold off at Banqiao Station (given that the shop did not open early)... and off we go to search for Taiwan's best pineapple tart. *Cue The Voice background music* We took a cab down from Banqiao station to Pan's Cake. The distance was quite near.  There was already an ongoing queue inside the bakery ( as this was a known bakery patronized by the locals). We bought a couple and cab down back to our hotel. Our next stop is the famous Chia Te pineapple tarts. I have to admit, I am biased. The pineapple tarts, raspberry, walnut, aren't that bad, and some of their pastry too like the Milk bread (albeit this was too messy to eat). Directions:  Take MTR to Nanjing Sanmin Station. Chia Te should be at the exit on your left. From Chia Te, we took a cab to our last pineapple tart shop, which was at Sunny Hills. They provided a free sampling of the tarts ...

Taiwan Itinerary 2018: Day 3 - Taipei 101, Elephant Mountain and The Concert!

Image
Day 03 "Free Day" I was supposed to meet up a friend but plans changed so I ended up going to the city alone. I was thinking of going through the Daan Forest Park first since it was on the same line as the Convention centre area. (Tamsui Line). Daan Park From the main line in Taipei Main station switch to the red line (Tamsui Line) and alight at Daan Park station. The park is not that hard to find, exit the station, and you'll get to see this view. I spent some 30 minutes around the area.  At the centre of the park, you'll get to see the Daan park mascot. I also head out to the "lake" where I found some ducks and swans swimming in the lake. It was quite nice to see a forested area near the bustling city. Since I still have some time to spare before the concert proper, I decided that I would go to Elephant Mountain. Exit 2 of 象山 mrt station  ( The last station at the Tamsui line). There are signs to go to the Elephant Mountain (...
